Coal transferred to the surface from the underground operation is fed into a Bradford Breaker (which removes impurities from the raw coal), conveyed to a 2000t product load out bin and loaded into haul trucks. Haul trucks transport the coal via an internal private haul road from West Wallsend Colliery to the MCPP for processing.

Process coal is conveyed onto a product coal stockpile. Product coal is reclaimed via a stacker/reclaimer and conveyed to a rail load out bin. Product coal is then railed to the Port of Newcastle for export. Small quantities of coal are transported to Eraring Power Station via an internal haul road when required.
