The SMP approval issued to West Wallsend Colliery includes a number of reporting requirements relating to subsidence management and monitoring. These requirements include a Subsidence Status Management Report (every 4 months) and an End of Panel Reports (within 6 months of completion of a longwall).

Additionally, West Wallsend Colliery is required to report to the relevant stakeholders, details of any unpredicted or higher than predicted subsidence, an exceedance of predicted impacts on groundwater or the natural environment, or any observed subsidence impacts to the serviceability or safety of infrastructure or other built structures.
